A pint on the High Street.
The bar is open to everyone, staying or not, and our draught beer is fairly priced. Two rooms inside, both in the same deep blue and the same "Happy Hour" wallpaper, and a courtyard out the back.
Opening hours: 12 noon to 11pm, seven days a week, and until 1am on some music nights.
Arched windows onto the High Street.
Deep blue panelling, a long counter and tables in the window. We built it ourselves, along with the bar upstairs.
Through the doorways, the bar lounge.
Same wallpaper, same blue, more armchairs. On music nights the musicians set up in the far window. Between the bar and the lounge there are seats for fifty, and with the furniture cleared it has been a dance floor more than once.

The courtyard.
Out the back and away from the street: sofas, parasols and wisteria, and the sun on it into the evening. The courtyard is open to everyone until 8pm, and to hotel guests after that. Dogs are welcome here and in the bar, with dog friendly dining tables in the bar lounge.
